Calender of events for 50th Celebration released
The activities for the month-long celebrations will begin this week with the Taro festival held today at the Niue Golf and Sports Club
The government has released the calendar of events for the upcoming 50th anniversary of self-government this month.
Several high level dignitaries will be arriving including the Governor General of New Zealand and Niue Dame Cindy Kiro.
The President of Fiji Ratu Wiliame Maivalili Katonivere will also be arriving for the celebrations.
The Prime Minister of the Cook Islands Hon. Mark Brown and a delegation of the Niuean community from the Cook Islands will also be arriving next week.
The Ulu o Tokelau, Alapati Tavite will also be arriving for the celebrations.
There will be two groups from New Zealand, the Niue Wellington Youth Group will arrive on the 4th until the 21st and the Favona Primary School Vagahau Niue Group will arrive on the 14th until the 25th.
The New Zealand Royal Naval Vessel Manawanui will arrive from the 17th – 22nd October.
