Niue Met and DAFF collaborate to produce first food security bulletin
The Niue food Security outlook bulletin will provide farmers and fishers with advice on the next months based on climate and ocean monitoring and prediction information

Deputy Director of DAFF- New Aue said last week’s 2 day workshop on developing tailored climate and ocean products is all about food security.

The objective of the training is to produce a food security outlook bulletin for Niue.
Niue Met Service Director-Rossy Mitiepo says this is a big achievement as this is the first time there is a collaboration between Niue Met and DAFF to produce this bulletin.

Also present was Dr.Grant Smith alongside two staff of the Bureau of Meteorology Australia wwho on the island offering their support on climate scale information around food security to DAFF.

Presentations were conducted by the Niue Met Service in bulletin overview and structure, interpreting forecast and skill information amongst others.
The session was facilitated by Niue Met Service as well as the Bureau of Meteorology Australia.
