BCN Tower Maintenance work begins

The work is part of a Broadcasting and TV Station Maintenance & Equipment Upgrade  agreement  between the Chinese Government and Niue Government. 

Chinese Contractors last week began maintenance work on the BCN Tower and repainting their china satellite dish situated outside the BCN office. 

The work is part of a Broadcasting and TV Station Maintenance & Equipment Upgrade agreement  between the Chinese Government and Niue Government. 

The agreement goes way back to 2004 since the devastation of Cyclone Heta damaged the transmission tower at Fonuakula.

The current project will run until 2030 will include the replacement of parts for the transmission tower in Sakena and the upgrade of TV Niue’s digital platform.

There are about six Chinese contractors working on the maintenance that is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
