This was launched as a side event during the 7th Pacific Media Summit (PMA) held on the island last month.
And a thirty minute documentary was aired earlier this month on Sunday-October 13, 2024. The documentary centers around on Niue’s journey of self-government titled “Halavaka he Matamaka” produced earlier this year by the team here at BCN with a grant from the Pacific Cooperation Broadcasting Ltd (PCBL).
The documentary features several leaders reflecting on the past 50 years and on self-government and the relationship with New Zealand. It also features young Niueans both here in Niue and in New Zealand on their reflections and dreams for the future of Niue.
The doc was written and produced by Esther Pavihi, with camera work by Valentine Waqa and former BCN cinematographer- Eroti Navuku. It was produced for Pasifika TV.
