Niue Premier holds bilateral meeting with Japan’s PM at PALM10

According to the Niue Government’s Facebook page, Premier Tagelagi shared his hope for a successful PALM10 and expressed deep gratitude to the Government and people of Japan for their ongoing cooperation.

The 10th Pacific Islands Leaders Meeting or PALM 10 has begun in Japan.

Niue Premier-Hon. Dalton Tagelagi is honored to be part of the meeting and had a successful bilateral meeting with the Japan’s Prime Minister-Fumio Kishida. 

PM Kishida welcomed Niue’s first honorary consulate in Japan, hoping to further enhance the relationship between our two countries. He also announced Japan’s decision to provide disaster prevention and response equipment to Niue. This support demonstrates Japan’s strong commitment to helping Niue address its challenges.

According to the Niue Government’s Facebook page, Premier Tagelagi shared his hope for a successful PALM10 and expressed deep gratitude to the Government and people of Japan for their ongoing cooperation. He looks forward to even stronger collaboration between Niue and Japan.

Following the bilateral meeting, Mr Taichii Fox was honored at the Welcoming Reception hosted by the Chief Cabinet Secretary, celebrating him as 1 of 14 Japanese who have made significant contributions to build friendly relations between Japan and the 14 Pacific Island nations.

This marks a significant step forward in the Japan-Niue partnership, and we are excited about the future prospects!
