Fiji Community host new Non-Resident High Commissioner to Niue
He is the first High Commissioner of the Republic of Fiji to visit Niue following the signing of diplomatic relations between the two countries last year during the Pacific Islands Leaders Forum Meeting held in the Cook Islands.

The Fijian community hosted the new Fiji’s Non-Resident High Commissioner to Niue- His Excellency Ratu Inoke Kubuabola to a traditional welcoming ceremony and dinner at the Niue Golf and Sports Club on Wednesday night.
This also included a talanoa session with the commissioner who was accompanied by his Mission Second Secretary,Josua Tuwere.
He is the first High Commissioner of the Republic of Fiji to visit Niue following the signing of diplomatic relations between the two countries last year during the Pacific Islands Leaders Forum Meeting held in the Cook Islands.
He thanked the Niue Government and its people for the genuine warmth it has graciously extended to the Fijian community here.
The Fijian community were happy and honored to host the commissioner.
Fiji Community President-Peni Rarasea says renewal of passports and visas were some issues raised during the session.
Fijian-Jieni Taoba says it means a lot to now have a commissioner who can listen to their issues especially with the growing Fijian community.
Rotuman-Sefeti Fatiaki who has lived in Niue for 36 years says this is a great opportunity to strengthen ties between the two countries.
There are currently about 60 Fijians living and working in the various sectors on the island . Kubuabola is expected to return for the 50th Anniversary Celebration in October.
