The Niue Disaster Council states it met on Friday the 10th of July in reference to a possible charter flight from New Zealand to Niue.
The flight will likely arrive sometime over the weekend. Those arriving on the flight are Niue residents and are eligible to enter Niue based on the current official travel advisory issued by Cabinet in May of 2020.
Those who will arrive on that flight will be required to quarantine for 14-days consistent with current COVID-19 protocols. A new designated isolation station may be established by Cabinet under § 9 of the Public Health Act, 1965 and all current protocols will be observed should the additional quarantine location be designated by Cabinet.
The Council states that additional information will follow as this situation develops. Members of the Public are to refer to the official Government of Niue sources for information regarding this matter.
