World food day activities, business expo and handicrafts major attraction at National showday

The school grounds at Paliati was the venue for the National Show day last Friday.

The three highlight events on the day were the World Food Day activities organized by the DAFF, the business expo and the national council of women’s crafts. 

The world food day competitions were based on the ufi. 

The final results of the competitions reveal that the women on the island are the best farmers this year.

Mrs Nogimoka Poumale President of the National Council of Women told midday news that the council this year decided to focus on one key item for display that is the woven tray. The ladies of the group brought an array of trays in different designs to display.

For the first time, young entrepreneurs were part of the Business expo at the national show day displaying their business project models. The high school students have been working with the Niue Chamber of Commerce throughout the year on these projects.
