New satellite dish to improve Niue’s USP Campus connectivity

Niue’s USP Campus will now have better connectivity for online learning through its new satellite dish.

The new satellite system was officially launched yesterday by the Chief guest Jackie Frizelle  who is the Divisional manager for the Polynesian and French Territories of New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

A total of $6 million has been invested across 14 campuses for upgrading of satellite systems.

Minister for Social Services and Chair of the Niue Campus Advisory Committee Billy Talagi acknowledged  the New Zealand Government’s support to USP.

Talagi stated the new satellite system will enable the campus to have better connectivity to the main USP campus in Laucala as well as to the other campuses in the Pacific region.

The Minister added that together with the manatua cable which will land on the island in November, connectivity for the campus should greatly improve.
