This was the sentiment shared by Niue Premier- Hon. Dalton Tagelagi while receiving the credentials of new Australian High Commissioner to Niue, Her Excellency Katy Stuart yesterday.
Ms Stuart becomes the third resident Australian High Commissioner on the island. She brings with her a wealth of experience having worked as a public servant and most recently as Assistant Director, Green Economy Implementation Section at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. She has also served abroad in Timor-Leste.
The Australian Government is confident that High Commissioner Stuart will play a pivotal role in fostering increased cooperation and understanding between Australia and Niue during her tenure.
Premier Tagelagi also added that both countries will work together to address challenges, seize opportunities and foster a resilient partnership for the benefit of the Niuean and the wider Pacific community.
The Australian High Commission was first established in Alofi, Niue in August 2020 and High Commissioner Katy Stuart is the third Australian representative.
