Alofi undefeated in Juniors Mixed Futsal Tournament 2022

A total of 12 teams participated in the 2022 Niue Junior Mixed Futsal Tournament which took place last Saturday at the Niue High School Grounds. 

Dominating the tournament was the village of Alofi, winning first place for both categories.

There were two categories: 5 to 8 year olds with a total of 4 teams and the 9 to 12 year olds division with 8 teams. 

The top finalists for the 5 to 8 year olds category include first place Alofi, second place to Vaiea, third place to Avatele and fourth placing went to Hakupu as a consolation prize.

For the 9 to 12 year olds, first place went to Alofi Gunz, second place went to Vaiea, third place went to Alofi Bulletz and fourth place to Tuapa. 

BCN news is aware that one of the players for team Tuapa was greatly injured during the third-placing finals with Alofi Bulletz. 

An emergency ambulance arrived on site to transport the player to the hospital. 

It was then that Tuapa forfeited from the game and Alofi Bulletz won third placing by default. 

First placings received $300, second placings received $200 and third placings received a prize money of $100. 

All teams received two Most Valuable Player (MVP) prizes for Boy and Girl with $40 each and gifts from Kendras. 

The Niue Football Association thanks all sponsors who helped make the tournament possible.

The Niue Football Association also announced that the Open Mens and Open Womens Futsal Tournament 2022 scheduled for this Saturday has been postponed to next week Saturday 23rd of July at the Niue High School Fields to begin at 7:30am onwards.
