Niue’s Parliament to dissolve on Wednesday ahead of 30th May General Election

The 16th Assembly of the Fono Ekepule will be sitting for the last time tomorrow, Wednesday April 29th.

Traditionally the last sitting of the Fono is when the members are expected to say their final speeches before the Speaker will dissolve the Assembly and Cabinet will go into caretaker mode.

The meeting tomorrow is also expected to hear from the Public Accounts Committee and their report to the Assembly of the 2014/2015 Audit report by Audit New Zealand, which was tabled at the last meeting of the Fono.

Cabinet will be in caretaker mode until the next government is voted in.

The General elections will be held on Saturday 30th May.
