Niueans will head to the polls on May 30th.

In today’s Parliament sitting, the Speaker Togia Valu Pihigia announced that the General Elections will be held on May 30th this year.

Parliament will dissolve at the end of this month.

BCN News understands the Premier Sir Toke Talagi officially notified the Speaker of Parliament last month on the finalized date of the general election.

In the last meeting of the legislative assembly which was on 12th February this year, the Premier Sir Toke Talagi had only announced that the general elections will be held in may however he had not announced the specific date as he said he would need to consult with government lawyers.
