September marks men’s health; Hospital conducts screening for men

Thyroid diseases amongst men has been the main findings from screening at the Niue Fo’ou hospital.

This month of September marks men’s health, the hospital is carrying out screening for men with a Sonographer from Tonga Mele Mone. 

She says the screening is targeted for men aged 40 years and above. 

Those below 40 years of age are also welcomed for screenings if they would liked to have their health checked. 

Generally, diseases found amongst men on the island are high blood pressure, diabetes and gout.

The screening will be held until the 9th October.
