Renowned Niuean artist assaulted

A renowned Niuean artist was recently assaulted at his home in Liku.

The incident happened last Thursday morning.

An official complaint has been lodged at the police station.

A local man has now been charged.

Police confirmed the man has been charged with common assault under section 157 of the Niue act 1966.

Police have issued bail conditions for him.

There may be further charges laid against the man as Police are continuing investigations.
