The Niue Immigration Department yesterday issued a statement on their social media informing new passport holders that the Niuean Aboriginal Exemption Stamp is no longer available at their office.

The Niue Immigration Department last week issued a statement on their social media informing new passport holders that the Niuean Aboriginal Exemption Stamp is no longer available at their office.
Instead they are now using the exemption sticker but unfortunately, they have run out of these stickers since the end of last year.
The statement reads “ Kindly note that our office no longer issues the “Niuean Aboriginal Exempt Stamp” however if you do have the stamp in your passport – this is still valid.. The stamp has been replaced with stickers which have ran out at the end of last year.
Our office has taken this opportunity to re-design the sticker to include various security features and are hoping to have these available later in March.”
However an immigration officer this morning confirmed that they have not received their order of new exemption stickers and people who need to have this exemption sticker in their new passports should email Immigration.niue@gov.nu or go to the immigration office located inside the Public Service Building at Fonuakula.
The Niuean Aboriginal Exemption sticker is needed for local residents when traveling from NZ on a one-way ticket. It proves that you are a resident of Niue.
