A review into the constitution for the Niue Island Sports and Commonwealth Games Association (NISCGA) is still ongoing
Speaking from New Zealand via Zoom yesterday, Niue Powerlifting Federation President- Tony Edwards shared more on the team’s performance scooping 2 gold medals and 3 silver medals.
He shared how he had to prepare himself leading up to the event as it took a lot of sacrifices, hard work and dedication and it’s all been worth it in the end
The humble gym in Alofi North has produced some of the country’s top weightlifters and medalists but for over 20 years has needed an upgrade and replacement of outdated equipment.
Matheson hopes that through the training the coaches can upgrade their skills and be able to work with those that might be interested in the sport in the future.
The organizing committee is thankful to both teams and coaching staff for their dedication and hard work all season long and is appreciative for all the efforts shown.
Game 2 will be played this Saturday- 24th August at 3pm at the Paliati grounds.
The Consultation hopes that all the relevant stakeholders will work together despite the challenges as relationship building is critical in moving forward.
Hivi Puheke said that he has always wanted more young people to take up the sport of touch, and then go on to become referees.
Puheke is grateful to his family for funding his travel costs to the Touch World Cup in England.
