Former table tennis Oceania champion to develop the sport further in Niue

Former Oceania table tennis champion- Ocean Belrose was in Niue recently to develop the sport further.
The 11-time Pacific Games Champion has represented Tahiti at the Pacific, Oceania and World events aims to relaunch the Oceania development program in Niue.

He currently works as a development officer for the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) -Oceania based in Tahiti. He has been involved in the sport for more than 20 years, as a player and coach
Belrose shared on the various table tennis tournaments organized by the Federation across the region.
Niue already has an existing Table Tennis Association with hopes to revive and strengthen the group lead by Sefeti Fatiaki. They will have an AGM to elect new committee members.
“There is great potential to develop the sport here, I’m trying to help them to learn and improve and push them to go to future Oceania events,” he added.
Last week a tournament was held in Alofi and he was impressed with the skills and interest shown by the locals. He also visited the local school and conducted training with interested locals.
