he Government of Niue welcomed a delegation from the Guangdong Province and the City of Zhuhai last Friday and highlighted the ongoing partnership between Niue and the People’s Republic of China.
The first output of this round of consultation is likely to be a Maritime Liability Bill, updating Niue’s law so that in the unlikely event of a major maritime disaster, Niue is in a strong position to access compensation from the vessel’s owners or insurers.
Hon. Tagelagi says the grant Aid for Economic and Social Development from Japan underscores the enduring strength of both countries’ partnership and friendship.
