Reshuffle and new associate ministerial roles for PM Tagelagi’s Cabinet

At the end of last year, a reshuffle of ministerial port-folios saw Prime Minister Dalton Tagelagi assuming ministerial responsibility of Taoga Niue. Additionally, it was announced that all ministers will assist each other in their ministerial portfolios. 

The changes came into effect several months after the unsuccessful attempt to change the constitution in August last year to increase the number of the members of Cabinet from four to six.

The Prime Minister Hon. Dalton Tagelagi, in addition to his Central Agencies port-folios will assist as associate minister of Health, Finance and Planning, Community/Internal affairs, Fisheries, Niue Power and Renewable Energy, and associate minister of the Public Service Commission. 

Minister of Finance & Planning and Infrastructure, Crossley Tatui will, in addition to his port-folios be associate minister of the office of the Secretary to Government, the Niue Assembly, Foreign Affairs, Crown Law and Regulatory Authority, Police and National Disaster Management, Education and Niue ko Kaina. 

Minister of Natural Resources, Esa Mona Ainuu will, in addition to her portfolios will be associate minister of Justice, Lands and Surveys, associate minister of Climate Change and AM of Public enterprises which includes Niue Tourism and BCN. 

Minister of Social Services, Sonya Talagi will, in addition to her portfolios be associate minister of Transport, Environment, Met Services, Agriculture and Taoga Niue. 

The changes came into effect in December last year.

    I guessed the reshuffle of ministerial portfolio sharing workload under associated regime is a good move for Niue Government and Niue public.Communication and transparency will certainly balance out commitments to the people.
