Ongoing Progress in New Power Station Development
Niue look’s forward to welcoming technicians in the coming weeks to assist with the commissioning of the generators in the new power house as the nation moves towards a more sustainable and resilient future.
In a media statement released yesterday, Niue Premier -Hon. Dalton Tagelagi and Temporary Minister for Infrastructure-Hon. Ricky Makani met with Niue Power Corporation staff to discuss the ongoing development of the new power station.
During the meeting, Premier Tagelagi expressed his satisfaction with the progress made thus far and thanked the team for ensuring the continued operation of the current power house amongst other ongoing developments.
Emphasizing the importance of reliable and sustainable energy infrastructure for the island, the
Premier commended the dedication and commitment demonstrated by the Niue Power Corporation to
maintain essential services while transitioning to a more efficient and modern power generation facility
to ensure the energy needs of Niue’s residents and businesses are met.
“I am pleased to see the ongoing efforts made toward the new power station project, and I want to
thank everyone involved for their commitment,” said Premier Tagelagi.
“The work being done is crucial for ensuring that Niue has sustainable and efficient energy for years to come.”
