Handing Over Ceremonies By Government of Japan in Niue

First Secretary of the Embassy of Japan to Niue-Tetsumi Takahashi attended the ceremonies and congratulated the project groups on the success of their projects.

The Government of Japan last week held three handing over ceremonies on the island.

According to a Press Statement by the Embassy of Japan, the projects included the Improvement of the sea tracks and marine facilities in the Western Region of Niue, the upgrade and provision of equipment for the Niue High School Health Clinic, the Clinic will help to achieve a 100% immunization rate for the school vaccination programme.

Also Japan handed over a forklift truck to assist cargo handling at the Alofi Port.

There have been six projects supported by the Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects (GGP) since 2016.
