Covid-19 update: Niue returns to zero cases

Several nurses from Samoa will arrive next month to help with the staff shortage at the Health Department

As of yesterday Sunday 18th June 2023, the island has zero cases of covid-19. According to the latest update on the Niue covid dashboard, no new cases were reported. However, two of the previously active cases have recovered, taking Niue back to zero cases.

Since the first historical case in March 2022, Niue has recorded a total of 820 cases of covid-19.

Although Niue has returned to zero active cases, public health officials are still encouraging members of the public to continue practising and maintaining precautionary covid measures.

If you are experiencing covid or flu-like symptoms such as a cough, sore throat or runny nose, you must complete a Rapid Antigen Test (RATs). Inform the Niue public health department immediately if your results are positive and isolate at home for a minimum of five days.
