The Department of Agriculture Fisheries and Forestry is now in charge of the management of the markets.
After several management issues with the market committees, the government has decided to hand over the management of the market to DAFF.
Minister for Natural resources Dalton Tagelagi called a meeting on Tuesday April 14th at the Alofi market.
He informed them of the new management under DAFF and that expenses such as bills and fees will be taken care of by DAFF.
Committee members and market vendors made use of the meeting raising various concerns in regards to the management by previous and current committees.
