NZ Government commits $3M to Niue for budget support and funds testing of COVID19

The New Zealand government will be funding $3 million to Niue as extra ordinary budgetary support

The New Zealand High Commissioner Kirk Yates has confirmed to BCN News that the Government of New Zealand remains committed to helping the Niue Government.

Aside from the financial support, New Zealand has also confirmed providing personal protective equipment or PPEs and New Zealand will fund the testing of COVID19 for Niue through the New Zealand’s Environmental Science and Research Institute. 

The High Commissioner said on the 16th of March the New Zealand Government provided, a financial support package for Pacific islands to help with the wide ranging health, economic and social impacts of COVID 19. 

New Zealand has been active in sharing information with Pacific partners
