With all the buzz about the Taoga Festival, what’s also going to get extra foot and art traffic is the nation’s Hikulagi Sculpture Park located in Liku with the most recent initiative by artist Mark Cross alongside the Charles Jessop family.
With all the buzz about the Taoga Festival, what’s also going to get extra foot and art traffic is the nation’s Hikulagi Sculpture Park located in Liku with the most recent initiative by artist Mark Cross alongside the Charles Jessop family.
The Charles Jessop Memorial Sculpture Prize will form part of the Niue Arts and Culture Festival with invites to the public to create an art piece that will potentially be added to Sale’s Fale at the Hikulagi Sculpture Park.
It’s envisaged by Cross that the pieces would be added to the ceiling of Sale’s Fale and perhaps on the roof.
The prize package for the event currently sits at $2,500 with entries from pre-schoolers encouraged.
Sponsors for the event include Tahiono Art Gallery, Niue Chamber of Commerce, Crazy Uga and Rae Finlay for the pre-schoolers prize. Charles Jessop family and the NZ High Commission have also contributed to the park with the construction.
Entries for the event closes on 5th April 2019.
