Pre-Christmas Event Always a Special Occasion
Keti Fereti is very grateful to the organizers for always thinking of them and celebrating them.
Niue’s Senior Citizens were treated to a special day last Monday by the St Joseph’s Catholic Church at Matavai Resort. It was a beautiful scene of colorful attire, good food, music, dance and laughter as about 100 seniors were serenaded during the occasion.
The organizer’s of the event included Dess and Chris Hipa and Mrs Ngatu Tukutama.
Mrs Tukutama told BCN News that this is the 32nd year of the pre-Christmas Fiafia event to celebrate the Tupunas of the island and to thank them for their service to Niue over the many years.
Keti Fereti of Avatele was grateful to the organizers for always thinking of them and celebrating them.
“Today is a very special day for all the Matua’s of Niue as they come together and just be happy because we are still alive. We are living in Niue celebrating the life of the Matua’s of Niue’s.” she said.
The Pre-Christmas Party is an annual event that recognizes the contribution of our seniors throughout the year.
The New Zealand High Commissioner H.E Helen Tunnah was also in attendance in her last pre-Christmas celebration with the Tupunas as her term comes to end soon as she leaves the island in a couple of weeks.
