Niue revisits climate change commitments
A national dialogue on energy and greenhouse gas emissions will be held this week in Alofi.
The Island States of the Pacific may be amongst the most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change but are demonstrating global leadership in the effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Responding to calls for the governments of the world to increase their ambitions and the urgency of their Greenhouse Gases mitigation effort, the Government of Niue, with the assistance of the Pacific Community’s Pacific Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency will be conducting a National Dialogue on its Energy and Greenhouse Gas Emission targets.
The Dialogue will be a whole-of-country effort involving the related government ministries, the private sector, NGOs, faith-based organizations, the communities and development partners.
The Dialogue will be held this week from Tuesday 9th to Friday 12th of April at the Millennium Hall, Alofi.
