Road Update Today
From Alofi North, final layering of seal will be done in this area, it is reopened with some section closed as its not fully dry.
If weather permitting today- Monday June 10, 2024, from Tamakautofga to the bottom through Anaana to Alofi Quarry will be strictly CLOSED for final layer sealing, Roads will be closed until further Notice.
From Tuila Power Station through Kaimiti Junction heading south to V Funaki Residential (TOA area) roads has reopened yesterday at 4pm.
From Alofi North, final layering of seal will be done in this area, it is reopened with some section closed as its not fully dry.
The Public Service Building front Car Park is under construction in preparation for the new chip sealing, please keep area clear until further notice.
There will be street light cable trenching in Alofi South and Alofi North, in preparation of the installation of the street lights.
The Primary School Road is Closed until 12pm today to allow for primer coat. Please reduce speed to 20km and no sudden brakes in this area
Expected works this week is from Makefu to Alofi North with final year layering, half the road will be closed. From Utoku to Paliati with the final layering in place, half the road will be closed from Makefu to Tuapa . All works will depend on the weather. A notice will be sent out before works starts.
All road users are asked to slow down and be aware of heavy machinery operating in the area.
