ICT Policy on Niue’s Digital Development

An Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Policy – National Consultation was held last week, bringing together key stakeholders from government departments and the private sector.
The consultation served as a platform for members to engage in discussions regarding the ICT policy and its implications for the ongoing digital development of Niue.
During the session, participants had the opportunity to raise questions and provide feedback on various aspects of the policy, exploring how ICT, including emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence or AI will shape the future path of Niue’s socioeconomic landscape.

The event featured remarks from the Temporary Minister for Infrastructure, Ricky Makani, who reaffirmed the government’s unwavering support for policy-driven advancement.

In the coming days, an ICT Symposium involving all key stakeholders in the ICT space will be held to officially launch the ICT Policy and recently completed Niue National Digital Strategy, further advancing Niue’s journey towards a digitally inclusive society.
