NIUANGO annual general meeting elects new committee
The Niue Island United Association of Non-Governmental Organisations, commonly known as NIUANGO, held its first Annual General Meeting for the year last Friday.
According to a press release issued this week, the NIUANGO Committee states there is a lot of work to get through.
First and foremost getting in touch with the Pacific Island Association of NGOs (PIANGO) to clearly understand the role of NIUANGO as its member.
The outcomes of the meeting also saw the need to review their constitution that is currently outdated.
A newly elected executive committee was also decided with Sefeti Adrianna as President, Vice President Avi Rubin, Secretary Jamal Talagi-Veidreyaki and Treasurer Poitogia Kapaga.
The organisation also acknowledged the former President Sioneheke Leolahi and his many years of service representing NIUANGO.
More than 10 NGOs were in attendance including Minister of Social Services Hon. Sonya Talagi and government officials.
