Auditor General presents report findings to Niue Assembly
He highlighted areas of improvement as some systems are not up to date, a project is now underway to bring modern accounting systems making it easier to prepare financial statements

A special meeting of the Fono Ekepule took place on Wednesday to hear from New Zealand’s Auditor General-John Ryan as he presented his report findings on the audit of the accounts for 2022, 2023 and 2024.
BCN News spoke with Ryan after his presentation, he says his report talks about how well the Niue government has accounted for it’s money and it’s up to the government to determine where the money is spent.

He also confirmed that Niue’s Government financial statement is now up to date after years of delay, a milestone achievement for Niue.
He highlighted some areas of improvement including some systems that are not up to date with a project now underway to bring in modern accounting systems making it easier to prepare financial statements to record all transactions and have reliable information for the people of Niue.
Prime Minister-Dalton Tagelagi expressed his appreciation for the continued support and guidance provided to the Government of Niue throughout the Auditor General’s years of service. The Auditor General also had discussions with the various key stakeholders this week.
