Air New Zealand completed its first commercial night-time departure from Niue since 2013, marking an important step on our aviation capabilities.
In a Government media release on Friday, Flight NZ936 was scheduled to leave Auckland at 9:00am last Friday but severe weather conditions in New Zealand caused a delay.
The flight arriving in Niue at 5:55pm and was late for a same-day daylight turnaround making a night departure necessary.
This change makes it easier and more reliable to fly to and from Niue, helping both local people and visitors.
The Government of Niue looks forward to the opportunities this milestone brings for increased connectivity, tourism, and long-term economic benefits for the island.
