“I think its a great thing to share with the island of Niue and it’s a lot of collaboration with Niue Blue in many levels,” he said.

He hopes this will raise awareness of our unique Island as an amazing destination for tourists. They are also poised” to become the South Pacific’s newest Professional Association of Diving Instructors, better known as PADI Eco Centre.

In the TIME article, PADI Regional Manager Robyn Vincent said Niue is a really unique South Pacific island because there is no surrounding barrier reef and is made up entirely of limestone, which allows for the migrating humpbacks to come closer to shore than anywhere else in the Pacific Ocean.

Barclay said they have a couple more things to do to become fully accredited, so the TIME article is also motivating them to get that completed as soon as possible, especially before their busy season that begins in a couple of months.

Niue Blue is the largest and most experienced watersports specialist on the island. They offer dive training, scuba diving tours, whale swimming and watching, as well as snorkeling and dolphin tours. They have four full time staff.
