The category 2 cyclone is moving south-southeast at about 7km/hr. TC Seru is located outside Niue’s Cyclone Tracking Map. Global models forecast the tropical cyclone to move southeastwards with further intensification.
And Tropical Cyclone Alfred was located over the Coral Sea at 4am this morning. According to the Bureau of Meteorology Australia the cyclone is located about 970 km northeast of Mackay and 1030 km east northeast of Townsville.
There is high confidence that Alfred will remain well off the Queensland coast until late in the week as it moves southwards. All three cyclones pose no threat to Niue
