Decline in pass rate for NHS 2024 NCEA results

The school noted there was a lower pass rate for 2024 across the three levels.

Niue High School’s 2024 National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) results have shown a decline in student pass rates. The results released by the School’s principal last week, revealing just over half of the 75 Year 11-13 students passed levels 1, 2, and 3, while just 5 students achieved University Entrance last year.

Year 11 – NCEA Level 1- 48% passed. Of the 27 students doing Level 1, 13 were successful with 5 Achieve, 6 Merit, and 2 Excellence endorsements.

Year 12 – NCEA Level 2- 58% Of the 24 students eligible for Level 2, 14 were successful with 10 Achieve, and 4 Merit endorsements.

Year 13 – NCEA Level 3- 54% passed. There were 24 students completing work for NCEA Level 3. Some students in this cohort were doing Level 2 work. Of the 24, 13 were successful in completing it with 10 Achieve and 3 Merit endorsements.University Entrance-Of the 24 students that met the requirements for University Entrance, only 5 were successful or 20% which is possibly the lowest ever for Niue High School. 

The school noted there was a lower pass rate for 2024 across the three levels. The results were released two weeks ago in an email newsletter to the parents by the Principal of the school Charles Ioane.
