The Australian High Commission (AHC) last week hosted a special brunch for Niue’s Faith based leaders at the Australian high Commissioners residence.

It was an opportunity for the new commissioner-HE Olivia Phongkham to connect with Niue’s community leaders and discuss community initiatives and their needs.

Speaking to BCN News, Phongkham shared on the importance of engaging with the various community leaders in both the public and private sector which includes faith based leaders.

“Faith based leaders are essential as part of the community here in Niue and I want to get all views, my team will work with them to ensure our work is comprehensive and we get the views of everyone on Niue,” she said.

Fresh and exciting ideas were raised during the discussions as they continue to work closely with Faith Based Leaders and the community to progress these ideas and initiatives over the course of this year.

This is one of many events which the AHC team has planned for 2025 to further deepen relationships with leaders in the Niuean community. Another scheduled meet is planned for April.
