Tourist arrival numbers increase by 28 percent for 2024
This upward trend highlights the strong recovery and renewed interest in travel to our destination

2024 saw a significant increase in the number of tourist arrivals to Niue by 28 percent compared to 2023. This was confirmed by Niue Tourism Director-Micah Fuhiniu-Viviani to BCN News.

This upward trend highlights the strong recovery and renewed interest in travel to our destination.
Viviani added, New Zealand continues to lead as the primary source of visitors to the island, followed by Australia.
The rise in Australian visitor numbers highlights a broader appeal of Niue as a desirable destination for neighboring countries in the Pacific region.
The Director also explained on the two key surveys being employed to collect valuable feedback on the visitor experience. The first is a survey monkey questionnaire linked to the airport WiFi in the departure lounge.
The second survey is the International Visitor Survey (IVS) funded by the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) and facilitated by the South Pacific Tourism Organization (SPTO).
The combined data from these surveys is vital for identifying areas of excellence as well as opportunities for improvement. The feedback will guide strategic planning and help ensure that the island continues to meet and exceed the expectations of future visitors.
Niue Tourism extends its heartfelt gratitude to the people of Niue, the private sector, and all tourism businesses for their unwavering support in driving the island forward.
“Despite being small in number, it’s the time, effort, and the dedication of our people that sets Niue apart, known for having one of the friendliest and most welcoming communities in the Pacific,” she said.
Niue’s twice weekly flights is expected to resume from Monday- 5th of May, 2025.
