The Niue Police Department has been undergoing a two week Police Safety Programme training with the Royal New Zealand Police College on the island.
Senior Sergeant of the Royal New Zealand Police college -Katherine Raines said the training consisted of defensive tactics using handcuffs, pepper spray and batons.
Niue Police officer Steward Siakifilo says his learnt a lot during this two weeks training.

7 Niue Police officers completed the training last Thursday with presentation of certificates.
