It was a beautiful day as people turned up early to take advantage of the many food and other products available at the Mutalau village show day last Saturday.
In his speech NZ High Commissioner to Niue-Mark Gibb highlighted the contribution of some well known Niuean Artists who have made it big in New Zealand as well as development projects in Mutalau village.
“So over the years New Zealand is pleased to have supported Mutalau and Niue development, many years ago we started with the vanilla project, we also did the reconstruction of the road and right down to the water.” Gibb added.
Also present was Prime Minister-Hon.Dalton Tagelagi, ministers and other members of parliament as well as Australian High Commissioner to Niue-HE. Katy Stuart.
There was dancing and singing by the Mutalau community throughout the day which was a fitting end to the month-long celebrations marking Niue’s 50 years of self-government.
