Fiji has secured the bid to host the next Pacific Media Summit in 2026.
BCN News had a chance to speak with Fiji Media Association General Secretary and Renowned Fiji Journalist -Stanley Simpson who said it’s a wonderful feeling that they will be hosting the summit after the country’s 16 years of media restrictions.
Simpson said the summit in 2026 is a message to the world that we are free and the Fiji media would like to celebrate this with the rest of the Pacific.
Simpson said some important highlights from the summit was discussions on renewing solidarity and sharing of ideas.
The summit bought together about 80 media professionals from across the Pacific region gather for the week-long summit last week here on the island.
