Donations of lawn mowers & filter buckets made to Village Councils

The Government recently donated 14 ride-on lawn mowers and some filter buckets to all village councils. 

A small handover ceremony was held in front of the Fale Fono 2 at Halamahaga two weeks ago. 

Member Assisting the minister for Social Services -Mrs Maureen Melekitama spoke on behalf of the government and presented the lawn mowers to the representatives from the village councils. 

Mrs Melekitama thanked the governments of the Peoplés Republic of China for the lawn mowers and the Government of Switzerland for the filter buckets.

Sionetasi Pulehetoa from the Liku Village Council represented the councilors in thanking the government for seeking the assistance of the governments of China and Switzerland to provide the lawn mowers and the filter buckets. 

Pulehetoa said that this gift of lawn mowers is timely as the villages undertake their beautification programmes in preparation for the constitution celebrations next month.
