A training for data collectors that will be part of a Cool Roof project was held on the island last week. Niue is one of four countries that are part of this study.
The Cool Roof project is progressing well with training for the people who will be collecting data for the research.
One of the lead researchers from Auckland University Dr Noah Bunkley was back on the island to provide the training and shared more with BCN News.
Bunkley shared how important the training of data collectors is for the Cool Roof Project. About 400 houses are expected to be part of the study.
He says the equipment that will be used on the project is on its way to the island.
The cool-roof project began in July last year. It is part of a global study on cool roof effectiveness on health, environmental and economic outcomes. The Project is expected to be rolled out in the next few months.
