New Posting to further strengthen relationship
Ambassador OSAWA is honored with his new posting especially in the year Niue celebrates its Constitution’s 50th Anniversary as he is determined to further strengthen their relationship.
The new Ambassador of Japan to Niue, His Excellency Makoto OSAWA presented his credentials to Premier Dalton Tagelagi last Friday.
In a media statement by the Niue Government states that although his visit was short, Ambassador Osawa had the opportunity to conduct a series of meetings with Minister Ainuu and Temporary Minister for Social Services- Mrs Maureen Melekitama.
He was also present at the Hakupu Show day last Saturday.Such engagements reflect the importance of fostering relationships not only within the Pacific but also with key international partners.

Premier Tagelagi said they were committed to continuing their relationship with Japan and he looked forward to further dialogue when he attends the 10th Pacific Islands Leaders Meeting in Tokyo in July.
He has extensive experience in the Agriculture, Forestry & Fisheries Ministry as well as Environment and International Affairs.
