Prime Minister -Christopher Luxon will be arriving on the island next Monday on his first visit to the Pacific islands since becoming Prime Minister in November last year.
Prime Minister Luxon will be the chief guest at the King’s Birthday Reception hosted by Premier Dalton Tagelagi and will co-host with the NZ High Commissioner- Mark Gibb.
The visit of Prime Minister Luxon to Niue is significant in that he chose Niue to visit first and to spend the first King’s birthday commemorations on the island.
This will be the first year to commemorate King Charles III birthday since his coronation in May last year.
The Prime Minister’s delegation will stay overnight and will be doing some sight-seeing on Tuesday and some fishing if weather permitting.
He will also be hosted by the villages of Avatele and Tamakautonga for a traditional luncheon before departing on Tuesday afternoon bound for Fiji.
For his first visit to the region, Prime Minister Christopher Luxon chose to visit only Niue and Fiji.
