The Downer Asphalt crew will restart work from next Tuesday-April 9th  to Thursday-April 11th. The crew will be laying asphalt on the new airport car park, the road next to the airport terminal canopy and the two airport access roads.

This was confirmed by Downer Project Manager-Craig Smart in a statement.

Visitors to the airport, the Transport Office, Niue Bulk Fuels and the Met Service are advised to comply with the cones and barricades Downer will have in place and to take extra care and look out for their people and equipment working in the area.

On Friday-April 12th and Saturday-April 13th, the crew will be working at the NZ High Commission. There may be short delays for traffic using the main road when their equipment turns in or out of the entrances. They will have the Stop/Go in place to warn and control traffic on the main road at these times.

The following week beginning on Monday-April 15th, they will be finishing off the airport car park and carrying out other minor work within the airport perimeter.

There are also a few vacancies for those interested in plant operation and concrete work. You can email craig.smart@downer.co.nz or call on 888 5493 if you are keen.
