Niue has been given the role to chair and host the 13th Polynesian Leaders Group (PLG) that will be held next year.
This was confirmed during the recent 12th PLG held in the Cooks Islands. Group members in attendance included American Samoa, Cook Islands, French Polynesia, Samoa, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Wallis-and-Futuna and Niue.
The Polynesian Leaders Group was formed in November 2011 with the aim of bringing together independent and self-governing countries of Polynesia to address issues of concerns and mutual cooperation.
