The active number of covid cases on the island have risen over the past week. According to the Niue covid dashboard latest update this afternoon February 20 at 3:53PM, the total current number of active cases on the island is standing at 31.
Eight new cases were detected in the past twenty-four hours. Three of the previously active cases have recovered.
A total of 783 cases have been recorded, since March 2022 last year when the island reported its first historical case of covid-19. From this number, 752 of the cases have recovered.
Passengers to Niue are still advised to complete a self-rapid antigen test at home on Day 1 after their arrival and a PCR test for Day 3 that can be completed at the Niue foou hospital drive through.
Today was Day 3 PCR testing for passengers who arrived on the flight last Friday.

Meanwhile, the Niue Public Health division this morning is calling out for all the elderly male and female residents in Niue to take part in the Radiology Elderly Screening Program for those aged 70 years and over starting today.
Family members who would like to make an appointment on behalf of your elderly parents are urged to call the Niue Foou Hospital at 4100 and ask to speak with Mele Mone of the Radiology Office to make alternative arrangements.
