Newcomers lead the polls; provisional results of the Niue Village Council Elections

The provisional results of the 2021 Niue Village Council Elections were completed today and released by Chief Electoral Officer Darren Tohovaka and Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Richard Siataga just after 8 pm tonight.

The names of the top five candidates for each of the six villages as listed below. The final results will be released next week.

For the village of Tamakautoga, a total of 52 votes were cast today, and newcomer Sean Billy Tukutama topping the polls with 48 votes. There were no invalid votes.

A total of 33 votes were cast today for the village of Makefu where newcomer Ernie Judy Tohovaka leading with 25 votes. There were no invalid votes.

Newcomer Emani Fakaotimanava-Lui topped the polls for the village council seats of Alofi Tokelau with 55 votes out of the total 64 votes cast. There were no invalid votes.
