Weightlifter and 38-time medallist Narita Viliamu Tahega (NCSS) awarded the Niue Community Services Star.

Narita Viliamu Tahega(NCSS) is one of two recipients of the Niue Community Service Star in recognition of her sporting feat as Niue’s most successful sportsperson winning the most medals.

Between 2003 and 2011, Narita won medals in 13 international competitions representing Niue.

She competed in the Pacific Games in 2007 and 2011, and the Pacific mini-games in 2009.

She competed in other international competitions including the Commonwealth weightlifting championship, and the Oceania & South Pacific weightlifting championship.

As an athlete representing Niue in weightlifting Narita has brought home 38 medals in all. 14 Gold Medals, 23 Silver Medals, and 1 Bronze Medal.

She is also a Police Officer and also served in the Regional Assistance Mission to the Solomon Islands (RAMSI).

Mrs Narita Viliamu Tahega is recognised for her sporting feat as the sportsperson with the most medals representing Niue in international sports competitions.
